The Art of Immortality

After Pangu created heaven and earth, the Six Realms came into being. Mortals in the Human Realm had no hope of immortality. Ye Qingming was a mortal who would stop at nothing to cultivate as an immortal and pursue eternal life. Yet years of cultivation brought him no success. Desperate, he went to Heavenbreak Cliff, intending to throw himself off. Just then, the immortal Yun Xiruo happened to pass by and flew down to stop him.

Moved by Ye Qingming's plight, Yun Xiruo grew close to him, and the two gradually fell in love. To grant Ye Qingming an immortal body, Yun Xiruo risked flying up to the Celestial Palace and stealing an elixir of immortality and an immortal pill. After Ye Qingming took the pill, he indeed gained an immortal body.

However, their actions angered the Celestial Court. The Jade Emperor and Queen Mother sent heavenly soldiers and generals to capture Yun Xiruo and Ye Qingming. Ye Qingming could not defeat them, and Yun Xiruo was taken back to the Celestial Court and imprisoned in the heavenly dungeon for five hundred years.

When Ye Qingming learned what had happened, he vowed revenge. He trained relentlessly in immortal arts, absorbed the essence of the sun and moon, and mastered unfathomable powers. At last, he fought his way to the Celestial Court and challenged the Jade Emperor. Unable to defeat Ye Qingming, the Jade Emperor had no choice but to release Yun Xiruo.

Ye Qingming and Yun Xiruo were reunited, and the two grew old together
