Ballad of the Mortal Immortal

Ballad of the Mortal and Immortal

Plot Summary:

In the 3,700th year of the Immortal Era, an ancient seal on Lingxi Mountain suddenly weakens. A flood of demonic energy bursts through the barrier and spills into the mortal realm, bringing locust plagues and rampant disease until the world of men becomes a living hell. Su Qingyuan, a mortal physician with the people in her heart, carries her medicine chest from one disaster-stricken region to another, treating the sick. As she cares for a young child infected by the plague, a drop of blood from her fingertip accidentally falls onto the jade pendant she wears, awakening the remnant soul that has slept inside it for a thousand years: Chu Xuanchen, an outcast disciple of the Lingxiao Sect. The pendant is actually a core fragment of the ancient divine artifact, the Mirror of Hearts. Su Qingyuan is the reincarnation of the deity who guarded the immortal and mortal realms within the mirror, while Chu Xuanchen was the immortal general who sacrificed his soul a thousand years ago to protect her. Their reunion marks the beginning of a journey in which the immortal and mortal realms intertwine as they face the calamity together.
