The Green Hills Remain

The green hills remain as they always were, while the sunset has come and gone many times.

A pot of muddy wine, a joyous reunion. So many things, past and present, are left to laughter and conversation.

First, we toast Heaven and Earth,

Second, our parents,

Third, you and me.

The spring breeze rises in April,

The flowers bloom in May,

In June, we help the willows,

In July, the magpies meet across the bridge,

In August, we admire the autumn moon,

On the ninth day of the ninth month, all things return to one,

In October, a new nation awaits.

My beloved remains as ever, far away at the edge of the world, yet close at hand.
