Siheyuan: A Life of Freedom

Zhang Jianguo transmigrates to a rural area on the outskirts of Beijing in 1962. Fortunately, he can move to the city to take over his uncle's job as a factory worker, and inherit his uncle's house in a traditional courtyard complex.

For a country boy, this is a surefire path to fortune, and the villagers are green with envy.

Even luckier, Zhang Jianguo acquires a fully operational farm. It's not only fun, it can also supply every kind of agricultural product.

As a lucky transmigrator in an era of material scarcity, Zhang Jianguo never has to worry about food or drink. Without hesitation, he chooses a relaxed, carefree life.

A comfortable job, a beautiful wife, a few kids, and the occasional bit of fun at the neighbors' expense. Life is easy and carefree!
