The Wandering Swordsman of Shu

I live in Shu, a place where people prey on one another. Here, someone might be laughing one moment and have their head cut off the next. Water is scarce, and every source is guarded by the major factions. Ordinary people can only toil endlessly for a pitiful amount of water and food. Anyone with martial skills works for one of the factions, while others survive by taking bounties. They kill for reward money, which they trade for water and food. Since they use blades to earn their keep, they are collectively known as the Golden Blades. During a battle over a water source, I was caught up in the fighting. My parents died beneath their attackers' blades while protecting me, and I fled in fear. Fourteen years later, I have returned, determined to wipe out these factions.
