The Monkey King Slacks Off, and Haotian Asks,

Li Changsheng transmigrates to Flower-Fruit Mountain in Journey to the West. At twenty, the security guard becomes a monkey.

He spends every day drinking and making no effort to improve his lot.

By chance, Sun Wukong is about to set out to sea in search of immortals and the Way, and is looking among the monkeys for a companion.

The other monkeys recommend Li Changsheng.

Sun Wukong comes over to invite him, but Li Changsheng refuses without a second thought.

"You'll spend decades searching for immortals, only to end up back at Flower-Fruit Mountain anyway. Why go out in the first place?"

"You'll waste decades going down the wrong path!"

After hearing Li Changsheng's reasoning, Sun Wukong falls into deep thought.

At last, he slaps his thigh and decides not to go!

He's going to stop trying, too!

But Li Changsheng is astonished to discover that after Sun Wukong gives up, he himself becomes stronger!

'What the hell! Am I proving the Great Way through doing nothing?'

He discovers that he really is proving the Great Way of Doing Nothing!

Decades later, the philosophy of doing nothing has spread throughout the Three Realms and Six Paths.

The Jade Emperor Haotian and the Western Sages can no longer sit still.
