The Road Home in Search of Immortals

A dream of Nanke. I look back and find my beloved by my side, returning to my hometown as a young man.

I seek immortality in the mortal world, only to find the way home. I dream of the street from my youth, a steaming bowl of wonton noodles, the kind faces of those around me, the little courtyard paved with blue stone, and my parents still alive. I dream once more of being young.

A blue-stone path, a narrow alley

The young man climbs the stone steps. At the turn

A fairy in a flowing green dress descends the steps before his eyes

The young man's heart pounds, his whole body trembles, and his legs feel as heavy as lead, unable to move an inch

A brief exchange. The girl in the green dress smiles faintly, and the world seems to stand still

They say that when someone is on the verge of death, the most vivid moments of their life play back before their eyes. This must be the clearest image in his memory

Half a lifetime of memories in the misty blue-stone lane, a smile over the shoulder rising with the wind

A rainbow-colored crown awaits the green dress, while love between immortal and mortal spans three lifetimes

The young man's surname is Zhang, his given name Yunlin. In the mortal world, he crosses paths with an immortal's robes

Deep in the mountains and forests, an immortal cultivator makes his way in search of immortality, clad in white
