I Founded Bureau 749 and Returned to the Qing Army Headquarters

On November 10, 1908, Empress Dowager Cixi suddenly realized her life was nearing its end. She paid a fortune to summon the Yinshan Sect and make arrangements for what came after.

On November 15, 1908, Empress Dowager Cixi died. The Yinshan Sect's leader and many of his disciples used the Yinshan corpse-refining technique to bring her back from the dead.

Resurrected through an unclean ritual, Cixi became half human and half corpse. Her face was horrifying, and she gained tremendous power, becoming invulnerable to blades and bullets.

Cixi joined forces with the Yinshan Sect to resurrect the Guangxu Emperor and many Qing generals who had died.

They put Puyi on the throne. In 1912, the Qing Dynasty fell.

Cixi and a host of Qing generals went into hiding beneath the Forbidden City, plotting to build an army of the dead that could kill gods and Buddhas alike and launch a counterattack across the globe!

Shen Changfeng caught wind of the plot in time and led his people into the underground palace beneath the Forbidden City, where they successfully dealt with Cixi and the Yinshan Sect.

The year was 2030.

Paranormal incidents were occurring all over the world, and the investigation eventually pointed to the Forbidden City.

Acting on orders from his superiors, Shen Changfeng established the 749 Investigation Bureau. Along with Lao Hu, Zhang Qilin, and others, he prepared to return to the Forbidden City.
