Zheng He's Manuscript: Thunder City Arc

There is a city on an island in the South China Sea, named Thunder City.

True to its name, every night thunder rolls, and crimson clouds drape across purple lightning, making it seem like a living hell.

Gold lies everywhere in the city, and its walls are built of crystal.

Every seafarer longs to visit it.

An old man once returned from Thunder City.

He described its splendor, and told of the horrors within.

Whenever he spoke of the palaces' **, his pupils would often burst.

But whenever he spoke of the treasure, his face would light up.

The old man said, "Thunder City was built upon endless treasure. By day, it shines with gold and jade, but at night it turns into worthless yellow earth. The treasures in Thunder City must never see moonlight…"

"Every night, thunder roars without end, crimson clouds hang beneath purple lightning, and the rain lashes down while the wind howls…"

"The lights burn all night. Look out the window, and all you see are skeletons. Even the food and wine fall to the ground through bare bones…"
