I, King Zhou: If I Don't Mention the Investiture of the Gods, Who Dares to Bring It Up!

The Investiture of the Gods: the gods are invested, but it is ordinary people who suffer.

As the ruler of the human race, I must take responsibility for its rise and fall, and protect all the people of the world.

"A thousand miles of scorched earth, people starving. Where are the gods?"

"Floods sweep through, claiming lives. Where are the gods?"

"All living beings suffer, while you stand above the firmament, free and at ease, looking down on mortals with the eyes of gods. What is the point of honoring you?"

"I do not agree to this Investiture of the Gods!"

"When the gods prove powerless, I shall save all living beings myself."

King Zhou gazes defiantly at the heavens. Facing the gods above, he stands shoulder to shoulder with them, though he is only mortal.

He will raze the Three Teachings, tread upon Lingxiao Palace, and ensure that no gods remain above the human race.
