After reading your introduction, it's an absolute crappy book.
Juxtaposing wizards and knights and warriors is a category of bad books in Western fantasy. Any mechanical and technological elements added to Wizards in Western fantasy are also a category of bad books. The biggest category of bad books in fantasy novels is a mix of neither Chinese nor foreign.
The beating sun? Is it a nuclear weapon?
