About This Novel
Chen Mo, a former archaeological team assistant in his early thirties, was injured in a field excavation accident and left his job. He lives in an old alley near Panjiayuan, making a living by setting up market stalls, repairing and appraising small old objects. He has a keen eye and is proficient in the stratigraphy and typology of field archaeology, but he is not good at talking or socializing. He is only obsessed with the "old things" dug out of the soil.
