"Staring into the Abyss" is a novel that combines fantasy, suspense and psychological elements. It is set in the town of Azathoth after the "War of the Rift" and revolves around the experience of the dream guide Morpheus. Morpheus is good at entering patients' dreams and diagnosing and treating mental illnesses through special instruments. However, after taking over the case of the "daydreaming syndrome" of the girl Palika, he was involved in a series of strange events - Palika would murmur "Dogula Magula" when she was ill, and then disappeared suddenly. Similar disappearances occurred frequently in various places in the Rift, and most of the missing persons were related to the Holy Palm Hospital.
