Great Flood Years
by Red Rackham
About This Novel
ASR 1453, new routes have been opened for decades. Wealth from the south rolled in, magnificent city-states rose from the ground, and gunpowder and steel were increasingly used in everything in the world. Philosophers wrote books in universities, politicians made eloquent speeches in parliament; ordinary people who dared to dream relied on the monsoon and sailors for their future, and farmers were intoxicated in vineyards filled with wine. As for the kings, they were perhaps the most miserable people in the world, tortured by high courts, lords, churches, new citizens, heirs, and that damn magic. However, even so, they probably won't feel that this drunken and happy era is any worse than the past. Just like most people in the world are enveloped in a hazy, sweet, but frothy and illusory prosperity, they do not realize that although the fate of the world and mankind is so long, there are only a few key turning points. They are also unaware that their destiny is just a fallen leaf wrapped in gold - just a breeze will quietly fall in the bells of autumn.
