About This Novel
"The Heavenly Soldiers of Chuandong" is a folk family story about the ethnic minorities in southwestern Hubei who resisted the brutal rule of the Qing Dynasty hundreds of years ago. The protagonist Chen Yuandao and his family's ten sons, including Chen Daren, Chen Dayi, Chen Daqiang, Chen Dafu and Chen Dashou, took advantage of the dangers of Chuandong to hide. The terrain, using every possible means of natural animals, was one of the many battlefields of the White Lotus Sect during the same period. It struggled with the imperial court. The story incorporates many ethnic minority buildings, costumes, and living customs, such as Fengyu Bridge, Xilan Kapu, Crying Marriage Song, Zhang Guan He Zha, etc. The story has a total of thirty-five chapters, totaling 50,000 words. Although the fate of most struggles in Chinese history is the same, it ends with a brutal killing, leaving behind records and legends of Qingming Fields, Borrowing Yin Soldiers, and dozens of inscriptions. What is taken away is blood, tears, and fresh life.
