At Peace with the Rabbit

Character Introductions

* We all have scripts, acting out the same play, but you alone have no script and still perform your own part to perfection.

-- Lu Jibai

* A love that barely makes a ripple in the palm of your hand has fewer grudges, complications, and regrets than a friendship built on careful scheming. I just want to quietly stay by your side.

-- Qing Yu

* Where are the waves? Where is the sunset's fading glow? I envy those who only look at what's before them. At least they won't lose the treasures in their hands.

-- The Old Man

* Resentment, betrayal, loneliness, torment. Only after going through all of it did I understand how desperate and helpless the rabbit locked in a cage back then must have felt.

-- Liang Qi

* In my happiest moments, I lazily sprawled in her arms, feeling her tenderness in the sunset's afterglow and grateful that I had a lame leg. The height I could leap to didn't even reach her belly. As I watched blood spray from my chest, I hated myself for having a lame leg.

-- Xiao Lan

* The strong prey on the weak, and the fittest survive. Right and wrong don't matter. The weak deserve to be kept in captivity.
