What Do You Mean, Fate Has Dealt Me a Deadly Hand? I'll Defy Heaven and Change My Destiny

Penglai Immortal Island sits at the crossroads of the four realms, bearing the responsibility of safeguarding their peace.

A small ensemble cast, two male leads, all five characters equally important, with little romance.

Bai Shuyi of Ten Thousand Talismans Peak, Bai Shujin of Celestial Calculations Peak, Shen Xi of Artifact Peak, Wei Xun of Sword Peak, and Lin Shi'an of Alchemy Peak are known together as the Five Sources of Penglai.

The five rose to fame in their youth and stood shoulder to shoulder to defend Penglai.

But no one knew that every one of them was doomed to die. Each carried an astonishing secret:

Bai Shujin could calculate the secrets of Heaven, and foresaw the fatal fate awaiting his fellow disciples, but could do nothing to change it. He could only walk with them toward their inevitable end.

Bai Shuyi was a lonely soul from another world who had transmigrated here. Blessed with extraordinary fortune and favored by the Heavenly Dao, he became the variable that could break the deadlock.

Shen Xi was cool and powerful, with the finest Qi Refining cultivation in Penglai. In his youth, he had served the demon clan, though no one knew of his many sins.

The young sword cultivator Wei Xun was peerlessly brilliant, his sword cutting through illusions. He hid a blood feud in his heart: his entire family had been wiped out, and demons plagued his mind.

The gentle alchemist Lin Shi'an had mastered a miraculous art of healing that could cure every illness in the world. Born to a prominent family, he was secretly despised by his clan and targeted by his own relatives.

At first, the five stood apart on their respective peaks. Each had their own concerns and walked the path of cultivation alone, carrying a secret.

But they faced desperate dangers together and shared the passing years.

They braved perilous lands, unraveled mysteries, and endured tribulations. As the five came to terms with their secrets, they grew from fellow disciples who were close on the surface into the only family each of them had.

Now that undercurrents stir in Penglai, the Five Elements Formation has yet to be rebuilt, and their fated deaths draw closer with every step, how will the five face what is coming together...?
