Belated Favor, Volume 1: I Picked Up Several Future Moguls

At eighteen, Xiao Jin is at the lowest point in his life. His girlfriend, Liu Ruyan, has just callously broken up with him, and he wanders the streets alone, heartbroken. By a pile of trash on a street corner, he unexpectedly finds five eight-year-old girls, thinly dressed and homeless. The children's timid appearance pierces his heart. After giving it some thought, he decides to adopt the five orphans and become their father.

He is only eighteen, still a boy himself, with no substantial savings. Suddenly, he must shoulder the burden of raising five daughters, and the road ahead is full of hardship. When his former girlfriend Liu Ruyan learns about it, she cannot understand his choice and becomes even more certain that he is biting off more than he can chew.

Life is hard. While figuring out how to earn a living, Xiao Jin takes care of the five girls' daily needs, teaches them to read, and keeps them safe as they grow up. The once-despondent young man sheds his childishness and learns to hold a family together. Gradually, the five girls open their hearts and grow attached to their young dad.

Doubts from others and the heavy pressures of life come one after another, but Xiao Jin grits his teeth and carries on. The pain of his past heartbreak slowly heals in the everyday moments he shares with his daughters. The young father and his five girls rely on one another, piecing together a warm little home amid life's struggles and hardships, and beginning a story of growing up filled with both heartache and tenderness.
