Chasing the Light Through Old Cases

Fifteen years ago, in a desolate ruin at the edge of despair, Lin Yan plunged into the darkness and used the faint light within him to protect strangers. He went alone into the boundless night, leaving behind an unsolved case and an obsession that haunted the rest of his life. Fifteen years later, survivor Wen Zhixia returns with the others to carry on the unfinished mission. The Iron Gate lies in wait, reborn, while secret human experiments stir beneath the surface and countless innocent lives languish in cages. A group of people bearing wounds and debts of their own pursue the light, wielding the law as a shield and their convictions as fuel. They weave a net to pierce the darkness, carrying their original purpose across the years. The world remains shrouded in gloom, and dawn never truly breaks. Only generation after generation can press forward, standing firm in the long night and defending that last glimmer of light in the human world with their ordinary lives.
