I Turned Down Peking University to Enlist, Then Rose Through the Ranks

[Not a Special Forces story]

Li Xiu, a Peking University graduate and amateur hacker, returned to the 2000s and awakened the Military Life Competition System.

As long as he outcompetes everyone in the military, he'll reap the rewards.

Having hated his former life as a programmer, Li Xiu decisively gave up on continuing his studies at Peking University and enlisted instead, launching a career of relentless competition in the military.

A military overachiever has appeared, always looking to outdo everyone else. As long as it doesn't kill him, he'll push himself until he's dead.

“Stop competing so hard! The way you're going, your fellow soldiers are going to cry, and even the instructors will be on their knees!”

“Please stop. You're ruining the training environment in the unit. Our training targets have doubled!”

“Tell me, who raised the standard? No matter how hard we compete, we're the old soldiers who end up suffering!”

The protagonist doesn't become a special forces soldier. He starts out in the military, goes to military academy midway through, and becomes a director at the Army Command College. He builds a professional, model Blue Force and guides the evolution of military tactics.

He sets out on the path to becoming the military's ultimate overachiever.
