He transmigrates to Japan and becomes a high school student named Kamiya Kawa. All around him:
Hanako crouches in a school bathroom, waiting for someone to knock on the door; the Slit-Mouthed Woman roams the streets with scissors in hand; Miss Mary's calls, threatening death, ring without end; wails and dogs' barks never cease in Inunaki Village; the Ubume searches for the child who died long ago; and Aoandon smiles as she urges passersby to play Hyakumonogatari...
In this ruined world overrun by ghost stories and demons, Kamiya Kawa sets himself a modest goal:
"Defeat every demon and monster, and become the supreme ruler of all oni and gods."
