In 1994, China's machine-tool industry was suffering losses across the board. The authorities sent veteran department head Zhou Heng and young university graduate Tang Zifeng to the verge-of-bankruptcy Linha First Machine Tool Factory to help turn the enterprise around. After arduous efforts, Linha First Machine Tool was reborn and continued to grow stronger. Its Changying-brand series of machine tools entered the international arena, outshone all competitors, and became a shining Chinese calling card.
