I Owe Lingshan Eight Hundred Billion

Synopsis of I Owe Lingshan Eight Hundred Billion Zhang Jing is a 26-year-old elementary school Chinese teacher. Her daily life consists of preparing lessons, teaching classes, and grading essays. Then one day, a “Lingshan Mini Program” popped up on her phone, informing her that she had inherited eight hundred billion in spiritual mountain debt transferred by her grandfather. Her creditor was none other than the Buddha himself, and his collection method was “having the Eighteen Arhats take turns coming to her home to preach.” Before she could even fall apart, she discovered that she could awaken one “lesson plan card” each week, translating profound Buddhist teachings into language elementary school students could understand. It helped her survive the first round of collections. Even more absurdly, Lingshan offered her a “work-for-relief” plan: teach enlightenment classes to 37,000 child souls waiting in line to be reincarnated, and pay off fifty cents for every one she taught well. By day, she taught the correct use of “de,” “di,” and “de” in the mortal world. By night, she taught “karma and reincarnation” at Lingshan. She persuaded the irascible Arhat Who Tames the Dragon with the line, “The aggregate of form is like looking at the world through red glasses,” and even moved an embodiment of a remnant of the Demon of Greed with a lesson on “managing desire.” Her grandfather’s diary hinted that there was something fishy about how the eight hundred billion in debt had been calculated, and that the key evidence was hidden in the underground palace of an ancient temple buried beneath the sands of the Western Regions. When the collecting Arhats began lining up to ask for her autograph, and the embodiments of the Four Demons sat obediently in the front row of her classroom, she realized that being a teacher might be more useful than any magical artifact. This is the story of an elementary school teacher who takes on the greatest financial scam in the Three Realms by “grading homework.”
