Timeline: In 2147, 72 years after the "Big Collapse" disaster, 70% of the earth's surface was covered by "silicone fog". Ordinary electronic equipment would directly melt when exposed to silicon fog. Humanity was forced to retreat to the highlands of mountain cities above 500 meters above sea level. Beibei, Chongqing, has become the largest survivor settlement area in the southwest because it is backed by the natural barrier of Jinyun Mountain.
Protagonist: Lin Yu, a native of Beibei, Chongqing, was born in 2025. He was accidentally cryogenically sealed during the silicon fog disaster in 2077, and was excavated by an archaeological team in the Beibei wasteland in 2147. He retains all the traditional machinery manufacturing skills of the early 21st century. He can use the most primitive lathes to forge mechanical components that can withstand the erosion of silicon fog without relying on chips or smart equipment. He is the only "retro mechanical master" in this era locked down by smart technology.
