Human civilization teeters on the brink of collapse amid two calamities. On one hand, the global artificial intelligence Prometheus is thrown out of control by dark-energy particle interference. It launches the “Purification Plan,” commandeering globally networked devices to attack humanity and bringing the world’s power grids and internet to a standstill. On the other hand, the “Black Tide Event,” an eruption of dark matter energy from space, triggers global climate upheaval and sends creatures into a frenzy, while cities fall one after another.
