The Thief's Way

In my life, I have been with many women. They all once let down their hair and shared intimate moments with me, and helped me in all kinds of ways at different stages of my life. But there are only three I remember most.

In 1985, when I was in my final year of high school, I got on the wrong side of a powerful man because of a rat. I had no choice but to abandon my studies and flee far from home.

But I have no regrets.

A dragon trapped in shallow waters is doomed, and staying in the Stone Forest means death.

Because of a rat, an old book, and a desperate predicament, I became a thief.

But throughout my life, I have always lived by one rule: thieves have their code, and even robbers follow a code of honor.

Many years later.

I wear credentials from State Security and the Public Security Bureau's Special Investigations Department on my chest, and carry in my pocket the Night Hawk jade pendant that marks me as the Thief King.

Only then do I realize that the naive young man who was robbed upon first arriving in Guancheng has truly grown up...

My name is Lin Yunjiu, the last Thief King of the modern era.
