Tempting the Divine

[Mountain God vs. Girl Who Sees Ghosts] [Sweet and Angsty Romance, Happy Ending] [A Heartwarming, Healing Story]

*

Bai Li has been able to see ghosts since childhood. She looks after Sanshui House, left to her by Granny, helping the living resolve their regrets and the dead fulfill their wishes.

One day, a strange man appears, carrying a token of betrothal. Their fates become entangled once more.

Yu Chuan treats Bai Li well without reservation, but refuses to say a word about the truth.

At Sanshui House, the living and the dead cross paths. Three cups of tea guide spirits on their way: a boy weeping at his mother's grave in the dead of night; a scoundrel who abandoned his old love to curry favor with the powerful; an unknown soldier who died far from home during the years of war; a child left behind in the village, waiting by the entrance for his father to return; a blind girl who wants to see what her puppy looks like; an old woman who spent her whole life waiting for her lover to fulfill his promise...

Death is not the end. Love is a bond that can bridge life and death.

When Bai Li falls in love with Yu Chuan again, she discovers that their fates were sealed long ago, and that his inevitable death cannot be prevented.

Yu Chuan gives his life for Bai Li amid the flames. His love becomes spring rain and gentle winds. Winter passes and spring returns, and Bai Li's longing takes root and sprouts.

New green buds appear on withered branches. Yu Chuan returns, and the lovers are reunited.

Yu Chuan loves every plant and creature in the world. Only Bai Li is his mortal home.

The god bows in submission, all for the sake of kissing his mortal world.
