Sleeping With a Fox

I raised a few chickens, but a weasel kept snatching them away and eating them. In a fit of anger, I beat the chicken thief to death.

I never expected that I'd offend the entire weasel clan and die a horrible death.

Only after I died did I learn that I was a cannon-fodder character in a supernatural novel. The weasel clan leader was the male lead, a beast who had cultivated into a spirit, while the female lead was a demon-hunting sorceress.

My death was just an excuse for the righteous heroine to rid the people of evil. She used the extermination of the weasel clan leader as her pretext, setting the stage for a love-hate relationship.

By the end of the story, the two of them lived happily ever after.

After being reborn, I repeatedly tried to avoid becoming cannon fodder for the destined male and female leads.

But the plot wouldn't leave me alone. I gritted my teeth, stomped my foot, and decided to fight it.

I break up the original novel's male and female leads.

I steal the male lead who was meant for the heroine.

I stir up fights between the heroine's doting senior brothers.

I take revenge on the second male lead until he's utterly ruined.

And so begins my life as a villain.
