Relentless Entanglement

Five years ago, movie star Li Shuheng was just the son of a village scavenger. He was hounded by debt collectors and abused at home, a rat everyone on the street wanted to beat. When they first met, Jiang Wan appeared in a filthy, run-down alley in a pretty princess dress, looking down at him and the local ruffians. She paid him with one hand and took him away with the other, keeping him as her pet. Five years later, the Jiang family fell on hard times, and their positions were reversed. When they met again, one was a revered movie star, showered with awards and standing at the top of his profession; the other was an extra, covered in grime and utterly down on her luck. A contract was held out to Jiang Wan: the very same kind of keep contract she knew all too well.
