Liu Feng was a civil engineering student about to graduate. His family was in debt, the industry was in a slump, and his prospects were bleak. He had no idea what the future held for him. Then an accidental electric shock activated the space-time transporter embedded in his brow.
On one side was a world rich in supplies, but with technology countless years behind.
On the other was a world far ahead in technology, but left in a post-apocalyptic wasteland where food and water were worth more than gold.
More importantly, as long as he had enough electricity, Liu Feng could travel freely between the two worlds. So he wasted no time becoming a cross-world trader.
“What? You’ve got gold? Come on over! I’ve got food, and the prices are fair. No one gets cheated!”
“What? You used to be scientists? Come on over! I’m short on staff. Do a good job and you’ll get a permanent position, with all the food you can eat!”
“What? You say our company doesn’t make anything real? Come on over! Ever seen artificial intelligence? A space elevator? An aerospace carrier?”
And so Liu Feng started out as a small-time food peddler and gradually grew into a tycoon who ruled both worlds.
So every day is the end of the world. Without the nuclear threat, there are aliens.
Old fans who have followed the first book have the same flavor as before.
