The Xi'an City Wall is the largest and best-preserved ancient city wall still standing in China. It is also a source of pride and spiritual comfort for the people of Xi'an. Protecting cultural relics is a mission and responsibility history has entrusted to the people of Xi'an, and a challenge they must overcome. The novel follows He Xiaoman and his father as they match wits with overseas relic smugglers and help the police recover five Tang Dynasty murals that had been taken abroad. It offers a sweeping portrayal of the trials and tribulations involved in protecting and restoring the ancient city wall, and recreates the hardships of recovering looted relics from overseas. It is the story of Xi'an's urban development over fifty years, from the early 1980s to 2020, as well as a history of the city's people pressing forward and finding solutions to protect their ancient wall. At its heart, the tangled fate of three generations of the He family and the city wall, with all their joys and sorrows and partings and reunions, captures the everyday life and spirit of Xi'an.
The author writes about a good subject matter. He stands in the position of protecting the city walls and cultural relics, interspersed with the struggle against criminals who steal cultural relics, and the plot is quite compact. But the setting of the main character is a bit too much. He left home for five years and ignored his wife and children. He has no moral bottom line! There are other plots that don't make sense either. In short, I hope the author will continue to work hard and write good works according to common sense and convention.
Teacher Xianhan's character immersion is very touching, and the plot of the story is ups and downs, which is very chewy to read. I strongly support this book and the people of northern Anhui support it. Let's go.
City and wall, these three simple words reveal the long-standing culture of Xi'an, my country... After reading this book, I just felt surrounded by the beautiful culture of Xi'an and influenced by history. I really haven't seen such an emotional and realistic novel with culture in it for many years. Come on Guan Da!
Come here to read Brother Xianhan's masterpiece. My admiration is like the endless flow of a surging river, and my admiration is like the unstoppable water of the Yellow River!
A very readable work
Once the city and wall come out, who can compete with them? Praise for the good book and leave your name in front of the fire
Especially beautiful. The intention is lofty, the writing is beautiful and profound, the plot is calm and full, and the characters are delicate and vivid. I like this book very much. The reading experience is deep and comfortable, suitable for intensive reading. The fine sentences everywhere are chewed slowly, and the aftertaste is long. Thanks to the author for dedicating such a good work in the impetuous fast food culture.
