The Han King Calls for Rebellion

After transmigrating to the Ming dynasty, Zhou Guangmei couldn't help wondering: Emperor Yongle was still able to lead a campaign against the Mongols twenty years ago, so how had the Tumu Crisis happened twenty years later?

What had Zhu Zhanji, the all-around genius praised by so many scholars and credited with ushering in the Renxuan Golden Age, been doing all that time?

What!

He abandoned Kaiping in the north and Jiaozhi in the south, ignored Joseon's northern expansion, let the Oirats grow powerful, and watched as Luchuan rose to prominence?

And, most importantly, he falsely accused my entire family of plotting to rebel alongside the Prince of Han?

Well, there's no helping it. When people accuse you of rebellion, you might as well actually rebel.

“That big, dark, fat Zhu Zhanji is useless. For the sake of the Ming dynasty, Prince of Han, let's rebel!”
