Immortal’s Song

The human path is faint and obscure; the immortal path is ethereal and distant.

Humans possess a spark of spiritual insight; immortals roam free.

A human life lasts only as long as a season for the plants, barely a century in the blink of an eye. In years of calamity, disaster can strike at any moment. Since time immemorial, gifted souls have occasionally appeared between heaven and earth, seeking immortality and searching for the Dao. Some relied on miraculous books and Daoist scriptures, others absorbed the essence of heaven, earth, sun, and moon, using the world as their dwelling and themselves as a cauldron, all in pursuit of eternal life.

A farm boy swore to become an immortal. A miraculous treasure of heaven and earth, its secrets beyond the reach of gods and ghosts. An unknown immortal gave the wondrous spirit stone to the Li family, generations of blacksmiths, who polished it into a magical millstone.

After joining the Qingyuan Sect, Li Lingxi became a menial disciple in the Scripture Repository. Unyielding and ambitious, he was preparing to ransack the sect's Scripture Repository when he discovered that something momentous had happened inside its locked doors! Matters involving immortals, gods, ghosts, and demons seemed to come crashing down on him like a mountain.
