Bite of Passion

The Gu family had a grudge against the Jiang family. To make peace, the Gus sent Wen Yunong to marry into the Jiang family. Everyone said Jiang Jin detested the stepdaughter the Gu family had sent him because she was plain and ugly. Then Wen Yunong dazzled everyone onstage in a ballet dress. Her legs were long, straight, and fair, and she looked as graceful and gentle as a swan. Jiang Jin’s fingers clenched, his gaze darkened, and he finally realized he had been fooled. On a rainy night, he gripped Wen Yunong by the waist and swallowed her breath as if punishing her. With eyes swollen from crying, Wen Yunong whimpered, “You’re crazy...” Jiang Jin gave a cold laugh. “Miss Wen, you’re so talented. It would be a waste not to put it to use.” Wen Yunong had never expected to get anything out of the marriage. She was clear-eyed and kept her distance, with plans of her own. Once she had helped the Gu family through its crisis, she intended to leave. But... Jiang Jin was becoming more and more unreasonable. He insisted on holding her while they ate, threw away her short skirts, and even tried to control her whenever she spoke to someone at the theater company. Wen Yunong could hardly take it anymore. She had a few too many drinks with a male friend and forgot her promise to Jiang Jin. When she woke up, she found her hands bound and herself locked to the bed. Jiang Jin gripped her chin, his expression fierce and his voice icy. “Baby, you’re so beautiful. How about you stop talking to other people?” “You’ve been very naughty. Stay here with me. How about we have a child?”
