The Avatamsaka Record of Journey to the West

The Huayan Journey to the West is a dark fantasy epic that uses Journey to the West as its narrative framework while deeply integrating the teachings of the Buddhist classic Avatamsaka Sutra. It builds a strange universe rife with cyber-Buddhism, biological meditation, and quantum causality. The work overturns the traditional Journey to the West myth's redemptive narrative, recasting the pilgrimage as a rebellious epic that tears open the truth of the Dharma realm. Amid metal Buddha corpses, flesh-and-blood Bodhi trees, and dimensional ruins, it explores the essence of Buddhism through philosophical reflection and postmodern deconstruction.

The central conflict revolves around the terrifying truth discovered by Xuanzang and his disciples: the Tathagata's Dharma realm is actually a parasitic system. The names of the Buddhas are living incantations that feed on the blood and vitality of their followers, Thunderclap Monastery is a biological placenta incubating a cosmic lie, and the Avatamsaka Sutra is a neurological memetic virus that controls all living beings. The pilgrimage team must use self-destructive methods of enlightenment to fight a corrupted Buddhist system: cutting out their tongues to break their vows, burning scriptures and scorching their eyes, and giving birth through dimensional reduction. With each tribulation, they expose the hideous ecosystem lurking behind Buddhist concepts: the Four Noble Truths are a neural web that stitches causality together, the Ten Abodes are parasitic embryos that devour insight, and Samantabhadra's vows are in fact an entropy engine accelerating the universe's heat death.
