The Road to Healing: From Exile in a Mountain Village to Regional Governor

During a torrential downpour, Lin Mufeng saves Lin Wei, a county party secretary who has fallen into the water. In return, he gets slapped and branded a "hooligan cadre," then is exiled to Liushugou Village, the poorest place in the county.

If there's no way forward in officialdom, he'll put down roots in the most desperate place instead.

With silver needles in one hand, Lin Mufeng treats the sick and saves lives. With the other, he tears a chain of corruption out of the depths of a silent mountain village, one that leads straight to the county magistrate.

When the female secretary, stymied in her investigation, gets her hands on the evidence, Lin Mufeng, the "discarded pawn," becomes the key to breaking the deadlock.

From then on, Lin Mufeng treats the sick, fights poverty, and roots out corruption, paving his way to success with his medical skills and hard work.
