From Border Guard to Emperor

Special forces soldier Lin Yuanchen died heroically while carrying out a mission, then transmigrated into the body of a rookie stationed at a beacon tower in the Great Zhou Dynasty. At the time, the Northern Mongols were burning, looting, and committing every kind of atrocity. Corrupt ministers controlled the court, while officers oppressed their soldiers and lined their own pockets. Officials and bandits colluded, covering for one another and acting in concert. The people lived in misery and suffering. Bones lay exposed in the fields, and for a thousand miles, not a single rooster crowed. As the empire teetered on the brink of collapse, Lin Yuanchen emerged, drilled his troops, made gunpowder, trained soldiers, and led from the front to bring peace to a chaotic age. One morning, Lin Yuanchen had just gotten out of bed when he saw that he had been dressed in the imperial robes. His ministers knelt before him and paid homage. Lin Yuanchen sighed deeply. “You’ve made things very difficult for me.”
