The Great Pillar of the Flourishing Tang Dynasty

During the Zhenguan era of the Tang dynasty, Li Chongdao squats in front of his deserted restaurant, bored out of his mind.

Before him lie a country recovering from war and flourishing prosperity, good weather and peace throughout the land.

Behind him lurk enemies on all sides, political infighting at court, and imperial princes vying for the throne.

Li Shimin, exhausted in body and spirit yet still striving to govern well, stands before him.

"You're blocking my sunlight."

So Li Shimin squats down. "Chongdao, what should I do this time?"

He sits in a little restaurant in the morning, and takes his seat in the emperor's court by evening.
