With Love, With Time

During graduation season, my boyfriend and best friend both betrayed me. Seven years of love and friendship vanished in a single day.

I was consumed by bitterness and utterly wretched.

Luo Xiangdong appeared at that very moment, high above me, his voice tinged with pity.

He said, "Liang Zijin, are you that desperate for a man?"

Later, when I was strapped for cash and had to drink and smile for clients, he said, "Liang Zijin, will you really sell your dignity for money?"

He took me through a world of glamour and glittering lights, while I helped him fend off his swarms of beauties and dangerous temptresses.

He was sharp-tongued, calculating, cold, and aloof. He said, "Liang Zijin, get lost."

Yet the moment I turned to leave, he pulled me into his arms.

I knew all too well how heartless he could be, yet I still couldn't help falling for him.

I gathered my courage and offered him my love, and my time.

But he personally handed me over to another man. He said, "From now on, you can call me Uncle."

Only at the end did I understand that love can be more worthless than so many things. It can't stand up to an affair, nor can it stand up to family ties.
