Goodbye, My CEO Wife

“Honey, we’re celebrating at the office. I lost a game, so now I have to do squats!” The breathless voice on the phone was mixed with a man’s chuckle, but her location was pinned at the Huatian Grand Hotel. On my thirtieth birthday, I’d stayed home with the rabbit cake our daughter had picked out for her, while she was in a private room drinking a wedding cup with her “little brother,” Lin Hao. I swept the food and drinks off the table and beat Lin Hao until his head was bleeding. But she shielded him and yelled that I was crazy, then even demanded I apologize. Seven years as a househusband, and I couldn’t earn a single sincere word from her. All I got was a green hat? Fine. Divorce! Who could have imagined that I, once always hovering around the stove, would use my university finance skills to build a business from nothing, bringing her company to the brink of bankruptcy in just one year and leaving her on her knees beneath my office, crying and begging to remarry? Su Wan, the “little brother” you protected can’t save you. The “good-for-nothing” you looked down on is now someone you could never hope to reach.
