Reaching for the Stars

Tong Anyi is the adopted daughter picked up by the Tong family. She comes from a family of merchants, and she is rich when she is rich, but she is at the bottom of the ranks of scholars, peasants, and merchants. Master Tong desperately wanted to send his son to Beijing to take the exam. Mrs. Tong tried her best to ingratiate herself with her aunt's in-laws and brought her three daughters to Beijing to find a good marriage. Tong's mother chose her eldest daughter as a concubine from a noble family, and after her second daughter chose a general's house, she chose Tong Anyi as a concubine next to the eldest son of the Hou family. She said: "An Yi, you are an adopted daughter, and your status is not as noble as your two sisters. The only thing you can do anything about is your face. If the young master of the Hou Mansion can take you into the backyard, it will be considered a blessing for you." The implication is that after raising her for more than ten years, it is time for her to work hard for the Tong family and seek glory. The Tong family didn't treat her well, but they weren't bad either. In order to repay their kindness, Tong Anyi wore light clothes on a rainy night and fainted in an embrace full of cold fragrance on the way back to his room when the eldest son of the Hou Mansion returned to his room. Afterwards, she would be taken out of the house by the young master of the Hou Mansion from time to time. He also built a house for her outside the house, so Tong Anyi understood that her status was too low to be a concubine, so she could only be a concubine. It's okay to use it as an outdoor room, there are countless silver flowers, you can sleep until the sun rises, and you don't have to look at the mistress's face, so you can live a comfortable life. But when the two sisters of the Tong family married into a famous family, they would mock her in a weird way at every banquet. People in the capital spread the news that she, Tong Anyi, was an adopted daughter after all, a humble and lowly person who was happy to be someone else's wife. With an imperial edict, she entered the palace and was named a noble concubine. When she entered the palace and met the emperor, who had always been cold and celestial, but seemed to be a different person only when he was on the bed, she suddenly realized that on that rainy night, she threw herself into the arms of the wrong person. No wonder he always bit her when she called him Brother Pei at night. On the night of the concubine's concubine, when the golden tent was getting warm, he hugged her and whispered in her ear: "If you want to climb a high branch, you must climb the highest, so that I can protect you."
