Fists Against Black Bears: Rising Through Hunting in the Xing'an Mountains

Lin Feng, a special forces soldier, is sent back to the Northeast in the 1980s after an accident.

Poverty is his only impression of this era.

Cabbage porridge, cornmeal mush, cold steamed buns...

Lin Feng vows to make a good life for himself!

Qinghe Village lies at the foot of the Greater Khingan Mountains, rich in wild resources, and he has plenty of hunting experience!

Wild boars, black bears, roe deer, red deer, Siberian tigers...

The whole mountain is his hunting ground!

When other families are too poor to spare even a drop of oil for cooking, his family is already eating fish and meat every day!

"That kid from the Lin family is really something. He went and took down a huge black bear!"

"Ever since his family started hunting, I smell meat every day. Now my own meals don't taste like anything!"

"They eat fish and meat every day. You'd think it was New Year's at their place all year round!"

The villagers chatter among themselves.

Meanwhile, Lin Feng has already set his sights on a new goal: hunting a tiger!
