The Day I Remarried, My Husband Who Died in Battle Came Back

On the very day Yu Zhao remarries, her former husband Huo Wangchen, who was believed to have died in battle three years ago, returns in triumph with great military honors. Yu Zhao, who has married a frail scholar, becomes a laughingstock.

After the wedding, Huo Wangchen arrives with a beauty at his side. "Yu Zhao, you only had to wait one more day to become a marchioness!"

Fu Hanzhou lowers his eyes and bows his head. "My wife covered the Huo household's expenses for three years. Marquis, pay back what you owe before discussing anything else."

Huo Wangchen turns accusation into defense. "Yu Zhao, so you really were disloyal all along!"

Fu Hanzhou pulls out a thick stack of IOUs and declares indignantly, "My wife has been dutiful, cared for her parents-in-law, and covered your expenses. We have witnesses and evidence! How can you call that disloyalty?"

Huo Wangchen flees in disgrace.

Everyone mocks Yu Zhao for throwing away a watermelon just to pick up a sesame seed by remarrying, but she says, "Good thing I tossed that rotten watermelon. Otherwise, I never would have found my treasure."
