You Sent Me to Marry for Peace, So Why Did You Turn the Empress into a Devoted Wife?

His father, the mighty General Ning, grew so powerful that he threatened the throne and was discarded once he was no longer useful. Before his body was even cold, the treacherous emperor ordered Ning Lie to become a male concubine and marry the female emperor of an enemy state to secure peace. Well, that's too bad for you! I wanted to get along with you as an ordinary scion of a noble family, but all I got in return was humiliation and betrayal. Enough pretending. It's time to show you who I really am! I'll show you all what it means to be a peerless pillar of the state! You want to humiliate me by making me marry for peace? Fine! But not one princess or noblewoman gets to sit this out. They're all coming with me as part of the dowry! The empress has only just ascended the throne, and her position is unstable? No problem! I'll establish Ning Gou to help you keep watch over the realm and root out corrupt officials. The Yangtze, a natural barrier? Heh. Against my five-toothed warships, it's just a sheet of paper, ready to be pierced! Every soldier of the Southern Liang wears armor? Sorry, but one cannon blast from me, Ning Lie, can pierce the armor of ten thousand men! And so, after three years of Ning Lie's political marriage, the north and south are united, and the female emperor becomes his beloved wife!
