A Spring Kiss Stirs the Branches

Nan Zhi’s family falls into decline, and she finds herself choosing between the Xu and Fu families through a marriage pact made in return for a favor. She chooses Xu Pingcheng. That same year, Fu Jingyao gets engaged to Qiu Jianan, the Xu family’s adopted daughter. A year into their marriage, Xu Pingcheng cheats on her with his own adopted sister. Nan Zhi’s heart twists in pain as she wonders how many nights the two of them have spent together. Only when she sees him humbly begging someone else to let him stay by her side does she realize: he understands better than anyone what he once did to Nan Zhi, what words would hurt her, what actions would break her heart... His pleas, obsession, madness, and tenderness are all reserved for just one person. She decisively leaves him and divorces him, only for Xu Pingcheng to imprison her in revenge. Amid the repeated calls of “Sister-in-law,” Fu Jingyao closes in on her, dangerous and unruly. She can’t get away from him, yet he helps her divorce and takes her to the capital. She thinks he’s only out for revenge, just eager to win! Little does she know: while she was shaken, he had already fallen for her.
