Year One: Set out to marry into the grasslands. Year Two: Father-in-law, I’m eager to prove myself! Year Three: Expand the army! Expand the army! Year Four: March south and seize the throne. Year Five: Expand Great Qi’s territory again. Year Six: You’ve forgotten your roots, old man. You’re from another tribe, after all. Year Seven: A northern campaign! Year Eight: Carve my name into Mount Langjuxu! Year Nine: I wonder what lies beyond the sea… Xiao Jing transmigrated into Great Qi and became the most upright of the emperor’s sons. Just then, the treacherous empress seized power and proclaimed herself emperor. What? You’re sending me off to marry into another kingdom? What? My father-in-law has two hundred thousand cavalry? No need to say another word! When spring arrives next year, I’ll rally the righteous forces, defeat the rebels, and restore Great Qi!
