After marrying into the Lin family, Chu Yun lives worse than a dog. They look down on him for doing the laundry and cooking, and even his wife's suitors can kick him around. After an argument, utterly despairing, he tears up his family's ancestral medical book. Who could have guessed that disaster would bring good fortune, and that he would unexpectedly gain the mysterious inheritance of the Medicine Sage? On the eve of his divorce, a former deputy mayor suddenly appears at the Lin home and drops to his knees before Chu Yun, sobbing and begging him to save his grandson. Just as the Lin family members are settling in to watch the show, Chu Yun uses his superb medical skills to snatch the child from the jaws of death. The renowned traditional Chinese medicine doctor of Donghai City is so shocked that he immediately wants to become Chu Yun's apprentice. Before the divorce is even finalized, the mayor suddenly comes to ask him to treat the richest man. Now all the Lin family relatives are stunned, their eyes wide with disbelief. How could this useless son-in-law, who usually only does the laundry and cooking, know how to treat people? And how could he get the mayor to come personally and ask for his help?!
