The Ninth Spring Banquet

She was his subject's wife, and he was her sovereign.

They spent their lives missing one another, never once able to be together.

Huo Yingyao was the formally wedded wife of Minister Zhou Cong, but on a rainy night one year after their marriage, Song Yanbai, the Marquis of Huaiyin, forced his way into her bed.

He robbed her of her virtue, then wanted to take her back to his manor.

He had already destroyed her family, and now he was forcing her husband to divorce her!

Forced to enter the Marquis of Huaiyin's manor, she would soon bathe all her enemies in blood!

Even when he begged her desperately at the end, he could not make her stay.

All her life, she had been robbed, harmed, and forced. He, meanwhile, only wanted her to be his wife.

Her joy was like spring, her fragrance like autumn frost. A thousand hatreds and ten thousand grudges entwined, until white bones piled up like mountains.
