The Emperor’s Heartless Love

“Qin Sujue, the woman I have loved most in this life, and the only woman I have ever loved. Though she is not by my side now, I will still name her my empress before all the world, and hereby declare that for the rest of my life, I will take no other woman into the palace as a consort. So decrees the Emperor!” Yet the woman who had once promised never to leave him and to stay by his side for life left behind a letter of separation and vanished without a trace. He was left alone, standing at the pinnacle of the world, receiving the reverence of the people and the homage of every official. All the glory was his to keep; she took all the sins with her.
