The Empress Called Off Our Engagement, So I Turned Around and Claimed the Throne in the Enemy Kingdom!

Qin Yu transmigrates to the Great Li Dynasty. Entrusted by the late emperor, he rises through the ranks to become the highest-ranking civil official and helps the Empress ascend the throne and secure her rule.

But who could have guessed that once firmly on the throne, the Empress would join forces with her ministers to discard him after he had served his purpose, using Qin Yu as a bargaining chip to marry him off to an extraordinarily ugly princess from an enemy kingdom...

You think you can play me? I'm done. I'm resigning and leaving!

Princess of the enemy kingdom: “Quick! Whatever Qin Yu wants, bring it to him!”

Holy Maiden of the Western Regions: “I've heard the young master is unmatched in talent. May I talk with you by candlelight?”

Qin Yu only wanted to settle down in the mountains and focus on developing the land. Who knew that, before he realized it, he would be heading down the path to ascending the throne and becoming emperor?
